The Coffee Shop

This coffee shop renovation is our biggest project to date! Located in a local church, the space hadn’t been updated in 15 years and was struggling to function in the way the church needed, so a complete renovation was necessary. It started out as 2 separate spaces- a bookstore & a cafe, and the cafe had a small seating area. We decided to open up the space by knocking out the bookstore and combining it with the cafe, and it made it feel at least 3x bigger! There wasn’t much that didn’t change- floors, paint, plumbing, new walls, getting rid of old walls, electric, and so much more. This was a massive undertaking, but everyone was thrilled with the way it turned out! Here are a couple of before pictures:

We wanted the overall feel of this space to be modern, timeless & FUNCTIONAL! Beauty and function can definitely coexist, and that is something we make sure to accomplish with each project that we take on. As always, we started this project with a mood board and a sketch up. This allows us to visualize how the space is going to work before we actually do any demo or make any purchases. This is so important to our process! Once our mood board and sketch up are complete, it’s (usually) smooth sailing from there since we have a pretty solid plan! We knew that for this space, we needed a place to hold books & march that would be for sale. We ended up creating a concrete accent wall and designed a custom bookcase for the display! We love designing custom pieces, and this one is especially cool because we can add on to it when it becomes too small, and all of the shelves are interchangeable if we need to move them around to accommodate different things. Here are the after pictures and links!
